Indian airlines directed to put an end to the chaotic issue of delayed baggage

India's civil aviation ministry has set a deadline of 26 February for top airlines in the country to improve their baggage delivery services. Passengers should receive their luggage within 30 minutes after the plane lands, with the first bag arriving on the baggage belt within 10 minutes of the engine shutting down. Late baggage delivery has been a persistent issue at airports, prompting the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security to instruct seven airlines, including Air India, Vistara and IndiGo, to implement measures for timely baggage delivery. The ministry has been monitoring baggage delivery times at six major airports and while there has been improvement, it doesn't meet the mandated guidelines. This development follows various efforts by the aviation ministry to enhance air travel experiences in India, including reducing flights at the international airport in Mumbai to alleviate congestion and improve landing times.
