Republic Day in India marked by women-led parade

India celebrated its 75th Republic Day with a lively parade in the capital, Delhi, where French President Emmanuel Macron was the guest of honor. The day commemorates the anniversary of India adopting its constitution, establishing it as a sovereign republic. The parade took place along Kartavya Path, previously known as Rajpath, which connects important landmarks in the city and ended at the historic Red Fort. The event showcased India's rich cultural heritage and military strength. Notably, an all-women contingent from the army, air force, and navy participated for the first time. Additionally, a French army contingent joined Indian forces in the parade. The themes for the event were "Viksit Bharat" (developed India) and "Bharat - Loktantra Ki Matruka" (India - the mother of democracy).
