The White House has dismissed claims of a congressional impeachment inquiry as a baseless attempt to damage the president. Hunter, who is in recovery from drug addiction, spoke out against his critics, stating that they are trying to destroy the presidency and wanting him to relapse. He also accused conservative news outlets of harassing him. Hunter has been indicted for tax evasion and is also facing a separate investigation for allegedly lying on a gun application. When asked about the charges, President Biden's press secretary expressed his pride in his son as the president flew to a campaign event in Nevada.
