Hungary has halted €50bn ($55bn; £43bn) in European Union aid for Ukraine only a few hours after an agreement was reached to begin membership talks. Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, took to social media following talks in Brussels to state that extra funds for Ukraine had been vetoed. EU leaders have indicated that discussions on aid for Ukraine will resume early next year. As Ukraine continues to combat Russian forces, it heavily relies on financial support from both the EU and the US. Further updates will be provided shortly.
