Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has been charged with disobeying a police order to leave a protest at a busy port in Sweden. This comes just months after she was convicted of a similar offense. Thunberg was fined in July for refusing to leave a protest on a road used for oil transport from Malmo harbour. Following the verdict, Thunberg and other activists returned to the port and were again removed by police. Her second trial is scheduled for 27 September. According to Swedish prosecutor Isabel Ekberg, the demonstration on 24th July was not authorized and disrupted traffic. Thunberg was protesting alongside the group Reclaim the Future, aiming to prevent traffic from accessing and leaving the port as a protest against the use of fossil fuels. Interestingly, this protest occurred shortly after Thunberg had been convicted and fined 2,500 Swedish Krona (equivalent to £180; $224) for a protest at the same port on 19th June.
