Glastonbury Festival ticket release postponed for fortnight

The Glastonbury Festival ticket sale has been postponed for two weeks in order to be fair to customers who were unaware that their registration had expired. Some older profiles were deleted last month, and many fans claimed they were not informed about this issue. As part of a system to prevent touting, customers are required to register their identities in advance to purchase tickets. The festival made the announcement just four hours before tickets with coach travel were scheduled to go on sale. These tickets will now be available on 16 November, while general admission tickets will be sold on 19 November. Registration will reopen on 6 November and close one week later. Customers were notified via email that registrations created before 2020 would be deleted on 2 October and had the opportunity to re-register before the 30 October deadline. However, some individuals only discovered their expired registration after this deadline. For the sake of fairness, the ticket sales are being postponed to accommodate these individuals. Tickets for the 2024 festival will be priced at £355 plus a £5 booking fee, an increase from the £335 cost of this year's event. The 2023 festival experienced an even larger price hike of £55, attributed to the challenging times following the pandemic and the significant increase in costs. The festival will take place from 26-30 June 2024 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, although the lineup has not yet been confirmed. During a recent interview, festival organizer Emily Eavis revealed that a renowned American artist was offered a headline slot for the festival. Eavis expressed her excitement and gratitude for securing such a notable act. This will be the third installment of the festival since the pandemic caused the postponement of the 2020 and 2021 events.
