Glastonbury Festival has announced that they will be bringing back the Emerging Talent Competition for 2024. This competition gives musicians the opportunity to compete for a slot on one of the festival's main stages. The competition will culminate in a live final, where contestants will perform before a panel of judges. In addition to the chance to perform at Glastonbury, three winners will also receive grants from the music charity PRS Foundation. Emily Eavis, co-organiser of the festival, expressed her excitement about the competition, stating that it has helped to showcase many talented acts over the years. The competition is open to acts of any musical genre based in the UK and Ireland. Application forms will be available on the festival's website from January 29th to February 5th. A longlist of 90 performers will be selected, which will then be narrowed down to the eight finalists. Michael Eavis, the founder of the festival, will be among the 30 judges. Last year's competition was won by musician N'famady Kouyaté, who praised the opportunity to perform on a prestigious stage and further his career. The winners of the competition will also receive a £5,000 talent development prize from PRS Foundation, while two runners-up will each receive a £2,500 prize.
