French prosecutors are investigating film director Benoît Jacquot after actress Judith Godrèche accused him of historical rape. Godrèche, 51, claims that Jacquot, 77, raped her when she was 14 in 1986 and continued to commit offenses throughout their relationship that lasted into the 1990s. The complaint was filed on Tuesday, according to her lawyer. Jacquot has firmly denied the allegations. Godrèche had previously mentioned her relationship with Jacquot in an autobiographical TV show, without naming him. However, she recently decided to publicly name him after watching a documentary where he discussed his relationship with an adolescent. Jacquot reaffirmed his denial of the allegations in an interview with Le Monde and declined to comment further. Godrèche's complaint was lodged with the Juvenile Protection Brigade in Paris. Both Godrèche and Jacquot have notable careers in the film industry, with Godrèche starring in films like The Overnight, The Spanish Apartment, and The Man in the Iron Mask, and Jacquot directing films since the 1970s, including Farewell, My Queen.
