Luis Díaz's father released by Colombian rebels

According to police sources and local media, Luis Díaz's father, who was kidnapped by left-wing guerrillas 13 days ago, has been released. The National Liberation Army (ELN) handed Luis Manuel Díaz over to United Nations and Catholic church officials. Luis Manuel Díaz and his mother were kidnapped in their hometown of Barrancas but his mother was freed soon after. Mr. Díaz is being transported via military helicopter to Valledupar for a medical examination before reuniting with his family. This is a developing story and more information will be released soon.
