Four students killed in Malibu crash, driver apprehended

A tragic car crash in Malibu, California has resulted in the death of four university students. The victims, who were all members of a sorority and seniors at Pepperdine University, were standing on the Pacific Coast Highway when a driver lost control and crashed into parked vehicles, which then struck the students. The university has stated that the students may be awarded posthumous degrees. The four women, Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, were in their final year at Pepperdine University. The driver, 22-year-old Fraser Bohm, was driving a BMW when he swerved off the road, causing the accident. Unfortunately, all four women were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were injured and their condition is currently unknown. Bohm was initially arrested for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence but was later released by the sheriff's department pending further investigation. The investigators are still trying to ascertain if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. The victims were all in their 20s and members of the Alpha Phi sorority on campus. The university provost stated that they all qualified to receive degrees at the end of the academic year due to their strong records of achievement. Pepperdine University is a private Christian institution located in Malibu. The victims, Weir, Rolston, Stewart, and Williams, were studying English, business, business, and had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian respectively. The Pacific Coast Highway has unfortunately seen several fatal accidents in recent years.
