Numerous rockets launched from Gaza towards Israel

Numerous rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel on Saturday morning. The sound of air raid sirens could be heard in southern Israel, and even reached the greater Tel Aviv area located several kilometers to the north. As a result of the attack, a 70-year-old woman suffered critical injuries when a rocket struck a building in southern Israel, as reported by Israel's Magen David Adom rescue agency. Additionally, a 20-year-old man was wounded by rocket shrapnel. Reuters news agency captured footage of Israeli firefighters combatting fires in Ashkelon, where thick plumes of smoke emerged from vehicles destroyed by the rockets. In response to the rocket strikes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced that security chiefs would convene. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.
