A judge in Colorado has dismissed an effort to prevent former President Donald Trump from running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. This ruling concludes a significant trial that centered around a lawsuit claiming that Trump's actions before the Capitol riot of 2021 disqualify him from holding office again. Similar challenges, using a constitutional amendment from the US Civil War era, have also been unsuccessful in three other states. Trump, who did not attend the hearing, has disregarded this attempt.
