A dog named Finney has been found alive next to her deceased owner's body after being missing for 10 weeks in the Colorado mountains. Rich Moore, 71, and his Jack Russell terrier had set out to climb Blackhead Peak on August 19 but never returned home. Mr. Moore's body was discovered on October 30, with Finney by his side. Rescuers believe that Finney managed to survive by hunting small animals and avoiding predators like mountain lions, coyotes, and bears. Finney, who weighed only six pounds (approximately half her original weight), was taken to a veterinarian and later reunited with Mr. Moore's family. The authorities determined that Mr. Moore died from hypothermia. Despite the loss of their loved one, the family is grateful that they still have Finney, who displayed unwavering dedication and loyalty to her owner during this extraordinary tale of survival.
