Drinks giant Diageo and rapper Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, have announced that they have resolved their legal dispute over their joint spirits brands. The partnership between the two parties ended in June when Combs sued Diageo, accusing them of neglecting his tequila brand due to his race. However, a joint statement released on Tuesday confirmed that Combs had withdrawn all of his allegations against the company. They also stated that they no longer have an ongoing business relationship. Additionally, Combs has voluntarily dismissed his lawsuits against Diageo. It is worth noting that the rapper is currently facing multiple sexual assault allegations, which he denies. In November, he was accused by R&B singer Cassie of rape and sex trafficking, but the lawsuit was settled out of court the following day. Subsequently, two more women came forward with similar accusations, all of which Combs denies. Diageo, which owns popular brands such as Johnnie Walker and Guinness, revealed in June that its relationship with Combs had been strained due to his failure to fulfill his funding commitments to DeLeón Tequila, which they had jointly purchased in 2013. The company claimed that it had invested over $100 million in the tequila brand and had attempted to salvage their relationship with Combs for years. However, Combs allegedly only made a minimal contribution of $1,000 and refused to honor his obligations. With the resolution of the dispute, Diageo now holds sole ownership of the Cîroc vodka and DeLeón tequila brands.
