With India's general election just months away, Rahul Gandhi, a senior leader of the opposition Congress party, has started a 6,700km (4,163 miles) long march across the country. This comes a year after Gandhi completed a 4,000km-long "unity march" from the south of the country to the north. In this current journey, Gandhi plans to travel from east to west, covering 100 parliamentary constituencies across 110 districts in 15 states, with the final destination being Mumbai. The march, called the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra (United India Justice March), aims to demand economic, social, and political justice for the masses. Many analysts believe that last year's unity march boosted Gandhi's political image and energized Congress party workers. However, some experts argue that while people appreciate politicians who listen to them, it is uncertain if this will translate into electoral success for the Congress party.
