The search for a suspect in a corrosive-substance attack on a mother and her daughters in Clapham is ongoing. The suspect, Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, was last spotted on CCTV at King's Cross station. He boarded a southbound Victoria line train at 9:00 PM on Wednesday. The mother, 31, is severely injured and her injuries are expected to be life-changing. Her daughters, aged three and eight, were not as seriously injured as initially thought and their injuries are not likely to be life-changing. The police have not made any progress in the search overnight. In a press conference, Metropolitan Police Cdr Jon Savell called on Ezedi, who has significant injuries on the right side of his face, to turn himself in and seek medical help. Images of Ezedi were released by the police, taken 90 minutes after the attack at King's Cross station. Evidence was recovered during search warrants in east London and Newcastle, including empty containers with corrosive warnings. Forensic tests will determine if the containers held the substance used in the attack. The attack took place on Wednesday at 7:25 PM in Clapham. Three women and a man tried to stop the attacker as he fled the scene. Ezedi was later seen at a Tesco in King's Cross before boarding a southbound Victoria Line tube. It has been confirmed that Ezedi was convicted of a sexual offense in 2018 after pleading guilty to one charge of sexual assault and one of exposure. He received a suspended sentence and was put on the sex offenders register for 10 years. Ezedi was granted asylum after converting to Christianity. The Catholic Church in the North East confirmed that he was part of a charitable project, but it is unclear if he received additional support. A shop owner in Newcastle, where Ezedi was seen on Tuesday, described him as normal, hardworking, and respectful.
