Cher's request for temporary conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman, has been rejected by a US judge. The singer had filed for this order last year, citing Allman's alleged struggles with substance abuse and mental health problems. However, Judge Jessica A Uzcategui of the Los Angeles Superior Court denied the petition, stating that Allman had demonstrated his ability to manage his finances and remain drug-free. Before the hearing, Allman had to undergo several drug tests. A conservatorship is typically granted to individuals who are unable to make their own decisions, such as those with dementia or other mental illnesses, and can involve managing financial or personal affairs. Cher's lawyers expressed concerns about Allman's mental health during the hearing, but the judge dismissed them as "hypotheticals" and "fears." Nonetheless, the judge will still consider a long-term conservatorship in March.
