According to a recent investigation by BBC News, OpenAI's ChatGPT feature, which allows users to build their own AI assistants, can be exploited for cybercrime purposes. BBC News used this feature to create a customized version of ChatGPT called Crafty Emails, which generated persuasive emails, texts, and social media posts for scams and hacks. This raises concerns about the potential misuse of AI tools. Although OpenAI intended to review and regulate these models to prevent fraudulent activities, experts argue that the moderation standards for custom GPTs are not as strict as those for the public versions. By enabling criminals to access sophisticated AI bots, OpenAI's GPT Builders could inadvertently facilitate advanced cybercrimes.
