Catherine Tate, known for her role as Donna Noble in Doctor Who, has expressed that starring in the show is the best job she has ever had. She is reprising her role to celebrate the show's 60th anniversary and received positive reviews for her performance in the first of three specials, where she stars alongside David Tennant. Tate admitted that she was not a big fan of the show before taking on the role, but is now amazed to be a part of such a massive franchise. She praised showrunner Russell T Davies for including her and expressed her delight in being able to revisit the character. Tennant, who played the Doctor from 2005 to 2010, has also returned for the specials. The first special reunites Tennant and Tate, while Ncuti Gatwa, known for Sex Education, will take on the role of the Doctor in December. The episode brought Donna back into the Doctor's life after living a normal life with her family, but feeling like something was missing. It has received positive reviews for the chemistry between Tennant and Tate, with critics praising its realization and progressive nature. The second anniversary special, Wild Blue Yonder, will air on December 2nd and the third special, The Giggle, will introduce Gatwa as the Doctor and air on December 9th.
