Security will be doubled for tonight's football match between France and Scotland in Lille, according to French authorities. This decision was made following a terrorist act in Brussels where two Swedish nationals were fatally shot. The attack was carried out by a Tunisian man who was in Belgium illegally. The suspect, identified as Abdesalem, was shot at a café in the Schaerbeek neighborhood. As a result of this incident, the European qualifying match between Belgium and Sweden had to be abandoned at halftime. Gerald Darnanin, the French minister for interior affairs, announced that additional troops would be deployed on the border and the number of police and gendarmerie would be doubled for the match in Lille. Lille is in close proximity to Brussels, making this security measure crucial. The friendly match between Scotland and France, which comes after Scotland's qualification for Euro 2024 on Sunday, is scheduled for 20:00 GMT.
