According to authorities, a British tourist was among three individuals killed in a terrorist attack at Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda. The police reported that the victims, including a South African tourist and a Ugandan guide, were ambushed and their vehicle was set on fire. The attack was allegedly carried out by suspected members of the rebel group, Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), who are being pursued by joint forces. The ADF, which originated in Uganda and now operates in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is known to have ties to the Islamic State group. The Ugandan police expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and are vigorously pursuing the suspected rebels. The UK Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Uganda, cautioning that the attackers are still at large and advising vigilance for anyone in the area. The Uganda Wildlife Authority has urged the public to be patient and allow the investigation to proceed while assuring that all national parks remain open.
