One of the victims of the deadly shootings in Maine has been identified as 76-year-old Bob Violette. Violette, a retired individual and a passionate bowler, was at the bowling alley when he was shot and killed. His daughter-in-law revealed that he died while protecting a group of children who were with him at the scene. Violette left behind three sons and six grandchildren. He is the first victim publicly identified in this year's deadliest mass shooting in the US. His wife, Lucy, was also injured during the attack. His daughter-in-law described Violette as a lifelong resident of Lewiston who had strong connections within the community. She emphasized his caring nature and how he always made people feel special.
