Australian cricket veteran David Warner has declared his retirement from One Day International (ODI) cricket, adding to his earlier retirement from test cricket. The 37-year-old announced his decision ahead of his final test match against Pakistan. Warner expressed his comfort in making this choice and highlighted his pivotal role in Australia's victory against India in the Cricket World Cup last year, where he was the leading run scorer. He described the timing of his retirement as appropriate after the "absolutely amazing" World Cup win. Retiring from ODI cricket would create prospects for new players and grant him the opportunity to participate in franchise cricket overseas. For the past 14 years, Warner has actively participated in the Indian Premier League, where he has garnered a massive following. However, despite his retirement, Warner did not exclude the possibility of playing in the 2025 Champions Trophy if he received a call. Warner's final test will take place in his hometown of Sydney on Wednesday and will mark his 112th appearance.
